Granite:
Pros. Very durable, heat resistant, unique patterns
Cons. Requires periodic sealing to resist stains, can chip or crack. Heavy. Needs strong cabinetry
Quartz (Engineered stone):
Pros. Non porous, low maintenance, consistent colors and patterns.
Cons. Not as heat resistant, can scorch
Quartzite (Natural stone):
Pros. Very hard, scratch resistant, heat resistant. Wide range of colors and veining
